Dr. DeMark McFarlane was appointed to serve as The Healing Place’s Senior Pastor in 2011. The attributes that best describe Dr. DeMark McFarlane as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like The Healing Place where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Dr. DeMark McFarlane takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible study.

Dr. DeMark McFarlane is a US Navy Veteran who graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor degree in Business, a Masters degree in Education and a Doctorate degree in Theology from Gate of Bethel Bible College.

Dr. DeMark McFarlane has been happily married since 1993 to his wife, Dr. Therese McFarlane. They have 3 Children: Melyssa Banks with son-in-law Johnny Banks, Christopher McFarlane, and Amanda McFarlane. They also have 2 grandchildren: Alana and Makaila Banks. Dr. Therese makes life a pleasure while doing Kingdom business.

Dr. Therese McFarlane was born in St. Andrews, Jamaica in 1973. She is the co-founder and prophetic visionary of The Empowerment Centers, an organization that covers various institutions for spiritual health and wellness. She came face-to-face with destiny by design in 1990 when she met her husband, Dr. DeMark McFarlane. Their love for one another grew in depth and breadth and resulted in marriage in 1993.  She is the mother of three children (Melyssa, Christopher, and Amanda), a grandmother, and friend to many.  

Dr. Therese began her journey in Christian leadership as a teenager and accepted her ordination as Minister in 2005. The Lord then called her and her husband out of their comfort zone, leading them to Atlanta, GA from 2006-2009, for ministry preparation through the "school of hard-knocks". In 2011, they were both ordained and installed as Pastors of The Empowerment Center, now renamed The Healing Place Global Church. She was later ordained to the office of Prophet, in 2015.  Dr. Therese McFarlane has a bachelor’s degree in nursing (1996), master’s degree in Psychology - Conflict Mediation & Resolution (2012), and doctorate degree in Christian Counseling (2017).

Dr. Therese McFarlane pastors alongside her husband at The Healing Place Global Church, FL where she developed the “Pillars of Righteousness” curriculum, oversees the Women's department, and provides mentoring to ministry leaders and young adults.  She moves in the prophetic realm, gifts of healing and miracles, and is an inspirational conference speaker and the author of the books "Awake Anew: Living as the true you” and “Daddy’s Girl Syndrome” (unpublished).
